Bouchard Chips In an Assist as Oilers Blank Flames
The Edmonton blueliner logs the team's biggest night on the clock in a 4-0 Battle of Alberta win over Calgary.
Evan Bouchard led all Oilers skaters in ice time and finished plus 2 as Edmonton beat Calgary 4-0 at home.
The defenceman played 22:21, a team-high among 18 skaters and first among the Oilers' six defencemen. He added one assist, all of it at even strength, and put four shots on goal: three at even strength and one on the power play. He also blocked two shots, had one takeaway, and gave the puck away zero times over 25 shifts.
That is a quieter night than his season pace suggests. Through 13 games he has 7 goals and 15 assists for 22 points, and he averages 26.2 minutes a night, so this was a shade under his usual workload. The shot volume was a step up, though: his 4 shots compare with 39 across the season so far.
The Flames came in on a four-game winning streak. Bouchard and the Oilers made sure it ended with no goals against.
