Last night's results measured against the pregame odds, the day's MA Insights, which reveal what the score sheet never will, with no advanced analytics degree required, and the league leaders in points, goals, Overall Grade and iron luck.

Metrics Arena pairs media-style coverage with the deepest public hockey numbers available: expected goals built from shot location, type and context; Corsi and Fenwick possession share; on-ice impact measured against what happens when a player sits; danger-zone shot quality; and line-combination results for every pairing a coach has tried.

Iron Metricsis ours alone — every shot that rang off a post or crossbar, the goals those near-misses were worth, and which shooters have been unluckiest. None of it appears on a scoresheet, because a shot off the iron is recorded as a miss and nothing more.
