Hutson Goes Pointless but Finishes Plus One in Montréal's Win Over Chicago
Four giveaways mark a night with no shots on goal as the Canadiens beat the Blackhawks 4-1.
Lane Hutson went without a point in the Canadiens' 4-1 win over the Blackhawks, but he finished plus 1. He played 21:58 over 23 shifts, third among Montréal's 18 skaters and third among the team's six defencemen. He did not lead the group.
He had no shots on goal, no hits and no blocked shots. He had one takeaway and four giveaways, and he took no penalties. At even strength he had two shot attempts, and on the power play one, but none reached the net.
That is a quiet line for a defenceman who has nine points in 10 games this season, with two goals and seven assists. His ice time was also below his season average of 25.9 minutes a night. Four giveaways is a lot for one night, though he has 15 on the year. Montréal won anyway, moving to 5-3-2 after a tough overtime loss to San Jose.
