Matheson Seals Montréal's Win in Chicago
The Canadiens defenceman finds the empty net late as Montréal beats the Blackhawks 4-1 on the road.
By MA Insights
Mike Matheson capped Montréal's 4-1 win in Chicago with a goal at 17:22 of the third period, but it was an empty-netter, not a hard-earned finish.
The defenceman played 20:15, fourth among Canadiens skaters, and had three shots on goal, a hit and a blocked shot. He finished plus 1. At even strength he had two shots on goal and no points; the goal came with the net empty.
Otherwise it was a modest night, not a breakout.
