Celebrini Blocks, Battles and Skates Away With a Road Win
The Sharks forward stays off the score sheet in Ottawa, but a six-goal night for San Jose means nobody is asking.
Macklin Celebrini did not light the lamp in Ottawa, and the Sharks won anyway, 6-2 over the Senators. He finished with no goals, no assists and an even plus/minus.
He was still all over the game. His 23:11 of ice time was second among the 18 San Jose skaters and the most of any forward on the team. He worked 26 shifts, put two shots on goal, blocked three shots, added a hit and took a two-minute penalty. He also gave the puck away once.
By strength, his shooting was split evenly: one shot at even strength and one on the power play, with no points in either situation.
For a player with 14 points in 9 games this season, five goals and nine assists, a blank line is a departure. The team had plenty of other scoring to cover for him, and the win moved the Sharks to 6-4-1.
