Lindholm Cashes In on the Power Play to Put Boston Ahead
Pastrnak ties it, Lindholm buries the next one, and Anaheim now faces a Bruins lead with a Ducks power play winding down.
Written during the game · 12:26 AM ET. Final was BOS 4, ANA 2.
Elias Lindholm was the most dangerous forward in this game, and the Boston Bruins now lead the Ducks 3-2 in the third period because of it. The forward had a goal and an assist, rang a shot off the post early in the second period, and scored the go-ahead goal on the power play.
His chances were worth more than any other skater's on the ice. His expected goals, which measure how many goals his chances should have produced, total 0.72, the highest of any player in the game. The go-ahead goal at 8:18 of the third accounted for 0.51 of that on its own.
He also assisted on David Pastrnak's tying power-play goal at 3:26 of the third. That was only 1 shot on goal for Lindholm, so the box score undersells his night.
He has played 14:56, and his live Game Grade is 8.3, the best on either team so far. Boston is 3 for 3 on the power play.
