Brent Burns Keeps Pace in Colorado’s Win

Skated a non-scoring night in the Avs’ big victory, logging measured minutes before drawing a minor penalty

Brent Burns had a quiet, workmanlike night in Colorado’s win. He skated 13:10 across 18 shifts and played in a non‑scoring, even‑strength role while the Avs put up the goals. He finished with 0 goals and 0 assists, 2 shots on goal, 1 giveaway and 2 penalty minutes; his plus‑minus for the night was -1. By team rankings his ice time was 16th among 18 skaters and 6th of 7 defensemen, while his even‑strength line shows the two shots came at five‑on‑five (shot attempts: 10 at even strength). Those numbers sit close to his season average ice time (season average 15.4 minutes per game), and his season on‑ice expected goals for (1.91) and expected goals against (1.64) reflect the kind of five‑on‑five environment the box score hints at. It was a quiet, functional night — no points, limited counting stats, but he skated in line with his usual minutes in a comfortable win for Colorado.
