Bouchard Runs the Back End in Oilers' Win Over Rangers
The Edmonton defenceman cashes in on the power play and sets up three more as the Oilers keep their road record spotless.
Evan Bouchard led all Oilers skaters in ice time and made it count: a goal and three assists in a 4-1 win at New York.
He played 25:42, a team-high and the most among Edmonton's six defencemen, over 25 shifts. His goal came on the power play in the second period, at 9:49. He finished plus 2 with three shots on goal and a blocked shot.
The night was not spotless. He gave the puck away four times, though he also took it away twice.
For the season he now has 27 points in 15 games after this four-point night, and his 25.9 minutes a game show the ice time was normal for him. The four points were the story. The Rangers, 7-6-1 and on a three-game losing streak, had no answer. Edmonton moved to 11-2-2 on the year, with a road record that remains unbeaten.
