Necas Cashes a Power-Play Goal in Colorado's Win Over Calgary
The Avalanche forward also set up a goal at even strength as Colorado beat the Flames at home.
Martin Necas scored on the power play and added an assist in the Avalanche's 5-2 win over Calgary. He finished plus 4 and played 20:02, the most of any Colorado forward and third among the team's 18 skaters.
The goal came 2:37 into the second period with Colorado a man up. It was his only point on the power play, and both of his shots on goal came in that situation. At even strength he had no shots on goal, but he set up a goal. He also had one hit and two giveaways, and took no penalties.
The goal was his seventh of the season, which now stands at 18 points in 14 games. His 20:02 was a touch above his season average of 19.9 minutes a night, so this was a typical workload with a productive finish. Colorado moved to 8-5-1 and has won two straight.
