Bouchard Fires Away From the Back End in Oilers' Win at Islanders
The Edmonton defenceman finishes on the right side of the ledger as the road-perfect Oilers shut out New York at UBS Arena.
Evan Bouchard didn't need a big night to be part of a big road win. The Edmonton defenceman picked up one assist, finished plus 1 and put three shots on net as the Oilers beat the Islanders 4-0.
He played 21:58 over 22 shifts, third among Edmonton skaters and second among the team's six defencemen. That is below his season average of 25.9 minutes a game.
The assist came at even strength, where he had one shot on goal and seven shot attempts. On the power play he had two shots on goal but no points. He also blocked one shot, with no hits, takeaways or giveaways and no penalty minutes.
The night was a touch quieter than his season norm, though it fits it: he has 23 points in 14 games, and in this one he again finished on the right side of the ledger. Edmonton moves to 10-2-2 with the win, and it stays perfect away from home.
