Scheifele Logs a Power-Play Assist in a Jets Loss at Florida

A busy night of shot-blocking and turnovers ends in a 5-2 defeat to the Panthers, Winnipeg's fourth straight loss.

By MA Insights

Mark Scheifele had a busy night in a losing cause: one assist, all of it on the power play, in 22:18 of ice time as Winnipeg fell 5-2 to Florida. That was the second-most among the Jets' 18 skaters and the most of any forward on the team.

His only point came with the man advantage. At even strength he had no points and no shots on goal, with two shot attempts. He finished minus 2, with one shot on goal, four blocked shots and three giveaways across 23 shifts.

It was a typical workload for him: he averages 21.1 minutes a game this season. The assist pushed his season line to two goals and 10 assists in 14 games.

The Jets, now 4-7-3, lost for the fourth straight game. Scheifele did what he could on the power play, but the even-strength side of his night was quiet.
