Perfetti Quiet in Winnipeg's Loss at Florida
The Jets forward found no scoresheet reward as the Panthers pulled away 5-2 and Winnipeg's skid reached four.
Cole Perfetti had a quiet night in Winnipeg's 5-2 loss at Florida: no goals, no assists, and an even plus-minus.
He played 18:38 over 21 shifts, seventh among the Jets skaters and fourth among their forwards. He put two shots on goal, and both came on the power play, the only strength where he had any production. He added one takeaway and no giveaways, hits, blocks or penalty minutes.
That is close to his usual workload, since he averages 18.7 minutes a game. On the season he has six goals and five assists in 14 games, so a pointless night is not a big departure. His chances this season have still been worth more than his own goals total: his individual expected goals, a measure of how many goals his shots should have produced, stand at 6.83.
The Jets are 4-7-3 and have lost four straight. Perfetti did his work without a payoff, and the team did not get one either.
