Bouchard Piles Up Assists on a Night Edmonton Sinks
The Oilers blueliner logs the team's most ice time and sets up two goals, but Toronto skates off with the win in the Oilers' barn.
Evan Bouchard put his name on the score sheet twice and still finished on the losing side. He had two assists in 26:11 of ice time, the most of any Edmonton skater and the most among the team's six defencemen, as Toronto won 7-2.
One assist came at even strength and one on the power play. He fired three shots on goal at even strength, added three blocked shots and a hit, and took away the puck once. He also gave it away three times and finished minus one.
The night fits the season so far: he now has 21 points in 11 games, with seven goals and 14 assists. He averages 26 minutes a game, so this workload was about normal for him. The goalless night was a small departure, since his seven goals have come on 33 shots.
The Oilers stay first in the West at 8-2-1, but this loss ended a short winning run.
