The Golden Knights outshot the Blues in attempts, but Hill faced a steady diet of quality looks and the Blues kept cashing in.

Adin Hill has had a rough night in St. Louis, but the numbers say it was not all on him. With 4:33 left in the third, the Blues lead the Golden Knights 5-2, and Hill has stopped 24 of 29 shots for a save percentage of .828.
He has made 12 saves on 16 high-danger chances, and the Blues also hit a post on one of their goals-against sequences in the third. Based on the chances he faced, the Blues' shots were worth about 2.67 goals -- expected goals, how many the chances should produce -- yet five found the net. Three of the five came at even strength in the second and third periods as Vegas tried to claw back.
