Perfetti's Early Third-Period Goal Isn't Enough in St. Louis
The Jets forward found the net seconds into the final frame, but Winnipeg left the barn with a one-goal loss to the Blues.
Cole Perfetti scored the only goal the Jets could muster, and it still wasn't enough. He tallied at even strength 32 seconds into the third period, but St. Louis held on for a 2-1 win.
Perfetti finished with one goal on five shots, two hits and a plus-1 rating in 19:47 of ice time over 20 shifts. That ranked sixth among Winnipeg's 18 skaters and third among the team's 12 forwards, though not the team high. He had no assists, no power-play points and no penalty minutes.
The night fits his season. He now has six goals and nine points in nine games, and five shots is in line with the volume he has been generating (26 on the year). Over that stretch the Jets have had the better of the high-danger chances with him on the ice, 81 to 42.
For Winnipeg, now 4-2-2, it was a second straight loss. Perfetti did his part, but the Jets could not find a second goal.
