Dostal Left Alone as Islanders Pile Up Chances

Lukas Dostal faced far more traffic than a 3-1 score suggests. At 20:00 of game time played, New York leads and holds a 29-12 edge in shot attempts, with 11 high-danger chances to Anaheim's 5.

Dostal made 10 saves on 13 shots and stopped 4 of 7 high-danger looks. Expected goals, meaning what the chances were worth, had New York at 2.0, so three goals is about what they earned. Palat, Eklund and Holmstrom scored; Vatrano answered for the Ducks.
