Dickinson Eats Pucks All Night as Sharks Win Shootout in Nashville
The San Jose defenceman led the team in ice time and blocked shot after shot, but finished a minus on a night the Sharks beat the Predators 3-2.
Sam Dickinson did his work without a point on the sheet. The Sharks defenceman played a team-high 24:39 across 25 shifts, first among all 18 San Jose skaters and first among their six defencemen, as San Jose beat Nashville 3-2 in a shootout.
He blocked six shots, against a season total of nine through five games. He also added one shot on goal, one hit and one giveaway, and took two penalty minutes. His plus-minus was -1. All of his shot work came at even strength: one shot on goal from four shot attempts.
That ice time sits well above his season average of 18.7 minutes a game, so this was a departure, not a routine night. He has one assist on the year, and none came here.
San Jose is 4-3-0 and still in the playoff race.
