Celebrini Logs Big Minutes, No Points in Sharks' Shootout Win
San Jose steals two points in Nashville while its leading forward goes without a point and coughs up the puck repeatedly.
Macklin Celebrini did not find the scoresheet in Nashville, but he was on the ice more than any other Sharks forward. His 23:39 ranked third among San Jose's 18 skaters and first among its 12 forwards, across 26 shifts, as the Sharks beat the Predators 3-2 in a shootout.
He finished with no goals, no assists and a plus-minus of zero. He put three shots on goal: one at even strength, one on the power play and one while shorthanded. He added one hit.
The messy part was the puck. Celebrini gave it away five times, a large chunk of the 14 giveaways he has now piled up in five games. He had no takeaways on the night.
The season line is still healthy: two goals and six assists for eight points in five games, and he averages 22 minutes a night. This was a quiet, sloppy shift of work that still ended in a win for San Jose, now 4-3-0.
