Hamilton Quietly Adds Two Assists in Devils' Win Over Rangers
The Devils blue liner finished a plus-four in a 7-1 home win, with one of his helpers coming while shorthanded.
Dougie Hamilton did not shoot much, but he finished the night with a hand in two goals as the Devils beat the Rangers 7-1.
The defenceman logged 19:39 over 26 shifts, third among New Jersey's 18 skaters and third among the club's six defencemen. He finished with two assists and a plus-4. One assist came at even strength and the other on the penalty kill. He had one shot on goal, two blocked shots and one giveaway.
That is a bigger night than his season to date. His season line, with this game's two assists included, stands at one goal and three assists for four points in seven games, and a plus-1.
The Devils badly needed a clean night. They got one, and Hamilton was on the ice for plenty of it.
