Girard’s Rush Produces Insurance Goal for Penguins
A crisp feed from Sidney Crosby turns into a secondary scorer’s big moment as Pittsburgh widens its second-period lead
Samuel Girard scored to extend Pittsburgh’s lead, firing three shots on goal while logging 12:22 of ice time. His active jump into the rush kept Montreal stretched and helped create space for the insurance goal — his chances were worth an expected goals (xG) 0.40, showing the threat he posed tonight.
