Blackhawks' Posts Kept Them Close, Not In Control

Kane and Donato hit the iron while Vegas did the heavy lifting on chances and territorial control

Chicago made the score look tighter than the game felt: two loud posts from Patrick Kane and Ryan Donato produced roughly one goal’s worth of expected value, but otherwise the Blackhawks were out-chanced and lost the shot-attempt battle. Practical takeaway: the finishing was unlucky in spots, but Chicago needs cleaner sustained zone time to convert those looks and limit Vegas’ transition chances.
