MIKKO RANTANEN

Stars Outchanced, Not Outscored

Two posts and a string of big chances leave Dallas scoreless despite controlling the shot share and expected goals

The Stars controlled more of the chances and their expected goals were noticeably higher, but they finished scoreless. Mikko Rantanen and Tyler Seguin both rang the post (two iron hits total), and Seguin’s four shots included several very dangerous looks that just didn’t go in. It was a night of process without the payoff.
