Shesterkin’s Goal and Quiet Night in Goal
A goalie goal stole the headlines, but his steady saves kept the Rangers' home opener calm and confident.
Igor Shesterkin gave Rangers fans an unforgettable moment by scoring the team’s goalie goal, then settled in and made a dependable performance. He faced 47 shots against, stopped 44 and finished with 2.47 goals saved above expected, the kind of night that turns a highlight into reliability.
