Hutson Sets Up Two in Montreal's Overtime Win Over Utah
The Canadiens defenceman logged more ice time than any teammate, but six giveaways dotted the night in the 5-4 decision.
Lane Hutson finished with two assists and a plus 2 rating as the Canadiens beat the Utah Mammoth 5-4 in overtime at the Bell Centre.
He played 27:00, a team-high among the 18 Montreal skaters and the most of the six defencemen, over 28 shifts. He put three shots on net and went without a hit or a block.
The points came one at each strength: one assist at even strength and one on the power play. All three of his shots came at even strength, on six attempts. The power-play assist was his only contribution on that front.
The messy part was the puck. He gave it away six times, with no takeaways. That is well above his usual pace, since he has 27 giveaways in 16 games this season.
The two assists lift his season total to 16 points (three goals, 13 assists) through 16 games. The Canadiens took the extra point after dropping their last game in overtime.
