Perreault, Kartye and Dorofeyev Lift Rangers Past Flyers 3-2
Adam Fox sets up two, two Rangers clang posts, and Garand handles the rest as New York stays sharp at the Garden
The shot clock called this one even. The chances did not. New York got the better looks all night, and only some posts kept the 3-2 final that close.
Shot attempts were split almost down the middle, but the Rangers' chances were worth far more. Expected goals, a measure of how many goals a team's chances usually produce, had New York at 3.68 against 2.57 for Philadelphia.
The Rangers spread the scoring around: Gabe Perreault, Tye Kartye and Pavel Dorofeyev each scored once, and the power play went 1-for-2. Adam Fox set up two goals in 25:28 of ice time. J.T. Miller put 3 shots on goal, earned an assist and hit a post. Dorofeyev also hit iron, so the margin could have been wider.
Dylan Garand made 23 saves on 25 shots to see it through. The 8-7-1 Rangers are now 7-2-0 at home. The 4-9-4 Flyers lost again despite Noel Acciari's goal.
