Saros Stonewalls Carolina While Nashville Holds a Lead
Perbix and Josi found the twine early, and the Predators goalie has erased everything the Hurricanes have thrown at him in Nashville.
Written during the game · 9:22 PM ET. Final was CAR 1, NSH 4.
By MA Insights
Juuse Saros has shut the door on Carolina so far. With 9:13 played in the 2nd and 10:47 left in the 2nd, he has stopped all 10 shots he has faced, including all 6 high-danger chances, and Nashville leads 2-0.
The Hurricanes have had the shot attempts 35-26, so this lead is not built on the Predators controlling play. Saros has saved about 1.87 goals more than an average goalie would have on those chances (expected goals, how many the chances were worth). Pyotr Kochetkov has allowed two on nine shots.
