Josi Sets Up Three in Nashville, but Capitals Take the Tilt
The Predators defenceman logged the most ice time on his team and moved the puck all night, yet Washington left Music City with the 4-3 win.
Roman Josi had a busy night in a losing cause. The Nashville defenceman set up three goals, with no goals of his own, as the Predators fell 4-3 to the Capitals at home.
His 22:56 of ice time was a team high among Nashville's 18 skaters and first among the club's seven defencemen. He finished plus 1 over 24 shifts.
Two of his assists came at even strength and one on the power play. He also fired six shots on goal, three at even strength and three with the man advantage, but none beat the goalie. He added one blocked shot and one giveaway.
That is a departure from his season line of one goal and 14 assists in 13 games. Three points in one night is a big jump for him, though the six shots fit a player who has put 35 on net all year. His night in minutes was a little under his 25.2 season average.
The point total was not enough to save Nashville, now 4-3-5.
