Ovechkin Fires Away, Finds No Twine in Capitals' Win at Nashville
Washington leaves Music City with a 4-3 road win while its captain-less scoresheet stays blank and his minutes stay short.
Alex Ovechkin did not find the scoresheet in Nashville, but the Capitals left with a 4-3 win over the Predators anyway.
The forward played 10:56 over 14 shifts, 17th among the team's 18 skaters and 11th among 12 forwards. He put three shots on goal, two at even strength and one on the power play, with no goals or assists. He added one hit, one giveaway and finished minus one.
That fits a season in which he has one goal and three assists through 12 games, on 19 shots. His average of 13.5 minutes a night is a little higher than what he got here.
The win moves Washington to a road record of 2-2-0, and the Capitals needed little from him to get there. A quiet night for Ovechkin, a good one for the team.
