LaCombe Sets Up Three in Ducks' Overtime Heartbreaker
Anaheim's blueliner logged the most ice time on either bench side of his team, but Vancouver escaped Honda Center with the extra point.
Jackson LaCombe picked up three assists, all at even strength, and still went home with nothing to show for it as the Ducks lost 6-5 in overtime to Vancouver.
He played 28:31, the most on Anaheim among all 18 skaters and first among the team's six defencemen, across 32 shifts. He added three blocked shots, one hit and one shot on goal. He finished even on the night, and he had one giveaway.
Three points in one game is a big jump for him. Coming in, he had one goal and 11 assists for 12 points in 12 games, so this one night supplied a quarter of his season total. He had no power-play points in this game, and his season shows only four power-play points, so this was an even-strength night.
He is averaging 26.4 minutes a game, so the workload was a bit above his norm. The Ducks, now 5-6-0 before the result is counted, got a lot from him and still came up one point short of a win.
