Hutson Blocks Shots and Stays Off the Sheet in Montréal's Win at St. Louis
The Canadiens defenceman goes pointless as MTL shuts out the Blues 2-0 on the road.
Lane Hutson didn't land on the score sheet in St. Louis, and that is the plain version of his night. The Canadiens defenceman had no goals, no assists and finished even, as Montréal beat the Blues 2-0.
He played 22:04 over 24 shifts, third among the team's 18 skaters and third among its six defencemen. He put one shot on goal at even strength, with two shot attempts in all, and blocked two shots. He also had one takeaway and one giveaway, no hits and no penalty minutes.
That is a step down from his season pace in some areas. He is averaging 25.2 minutes a game and has 10 points in 12 games, so 22:04 and no points is below those averages. His two blocks are close to his season rate of 15 in 12 games.
The Canadiens (7-3-2) kept the Blues off the board and took the points. Hutson's night was a quiet one inside that shutout.
