MacKinnon Gets an Assist, but Nashville Runs Away With It
Colorado's star logs the most ice time among Avalanche forwards in a 6-2 loss to the Predators in Nashville.
Nathan MacKinnon finished with one assist, two shots on goal and a plus-minus of zero in 19:49 of ice time as the Avalanche fell 6-2 to the Predators in Nashville.
That ice time was the most of any Colorado forward and fourth among the team's 18 skaters, though not the team high. He worked 19 shifts, added one hit, and took no penalties. His assist came at even strength, where he had six shot attempts, two of them on goal. He had no power-play points.
Against his season, it was close to normal. He averages 20.9 minutes a game and has 21 points in 12 games, so a one-assist night with a bit less ice time than usual fits the pattern more than it breaks it. The shot total was modest next to his 50 shots on the year.
The result was the bigger story. Colorado came in at 6-4-1 off a win over Tampa Bay, and Nashville, 3-3-4 before the game, ran away with this one. MacKinnon's night was steady and ordinary, and it didn't change the score.
