Sanderson Logs Team-High Minutes in Senators' 5-1 Win Over Florida
The Ottawa defenceman leads all skaters in ice time as the Senators beat the Panthers at home.
Jake Sanderson finished with two assists and a plus-1 in Ottawa's 5-1 win over Florida, and he did it as the busiest skater on the roster. His 22:36 of ice time was a team high among 18 skaters and first among the six Senators defencemen.
Both assists did not come the same way. One came at even strength and one came on the power play. He also put four shots on goal, and all four came with the man advantage. He had no shots at even strength. He added two hits and one blocked shot, and he gave the puck away once.
This was only his second game of the season, so it is a small picture. His two points tonight are his whole season total, and his 13.5 minutes per game average reflects that he is just getting going after missing time with a lower-body injury.
The Senators are now 6-3-0 and third in the Atlantic. Sanderson's night was a busy, productive return to the lineup.
