Finnie Sets Up a Goal, Red Wings Fall to Kraken in Extra Time
Detroit leaves Seattle with a point after a 4-3 overtime decision, and Finnie's busy night went beyond the score sheet.
Emmitt Finnie finished with one assist and a plus-1 in Detroit's 4-3 overtime loss at Seattle. All of his scoring came at even strength.
He played 23:20, fourth among the Red Wings' 18 skaters and third among their 11 forwards. That is well above his season average of 17.7 minutes a game. He took 27 shifts, put one shot on goal, blocked a shot and had no penalty minutes.
The quiet part of his night was the takeaways. He had three, against one giveaway. For the season he has five takeaways and 11 giveaways in nine games, so this was a cleaner night with the puck than he has usually had.
The assist adds to his season line of three goals and three assists for six points in nine games. It was not a goal-scoring night, but it was a useful one in a game Detroit lost only in extra time. The Red Wings leave with a point, now 3-3-2.
