Celebrini Shoots Often, Leaves Toronto Empty-Handed
The Sharks drop a 3-1 decision at Scotiabank Arena, and the club still has no regulation win through eight games.
Macklin Celebrini put five shots on goal in 21:59 of ice time and finished without a point as the Sharks lost 3-1 in Toronto. He was minus-1.
His ice time was third among San Jose's 18 skaters and second among the team's 12 forwards. Four of his shots came at even strength and one on the power play. He had no goals or assists on either.
That is a departure from his season so far. Through seven games he had 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points, six of them on the power play. A scoreless night broke that pattern, though not the shooting. He had 31 shots over those seven games, so five in one night is a busy one for him.
He also had no hits, no blocked shots, no takeaways and no giveaways. The Sharks are 4-3-1 and have yet to win in regulation.
