Ehlers Peppers Calgary's Net, but Carolina's Streak Ends
The Hurricanes' seven-game run stops at the Saddledome as the winless-at-home Flames finally break through 3-2.
Nikolaj Ehlers had a quiet night in Calgary. He finished with no goals, no assists and a 0 plus-minus in 16:12 of ice time over 19 shifts, as Carolina lost 3-2 to the Flames.
He did put 3 shots on goal, so he was getting pucks to the net. Nothing went in. He had no hits, no blocked shots, no takeaways, no giveaways and no penalties.
His ice time ranked 10th among 18 Carolina skaters and 5th among the team's 12 forwards. He was not the team leader in minutes.
It was a step back from his previous outing, when he scored the decisive power-play goal in Winnipeg. This season he has 1 goal and 4 assists through 10 games, averaging 16.2 minutes, so this night's ice time was in line with his usual.
The loss ended Carolina's seven-game winning streak and gave Calgary its second win of the season, its first at home.
