Matvei Michkov scored the opening goal at 17:32 elapsed in the 1st period, assisted by Travis Sanheim, and the Flyers lead the Red Wings 1-0. Michkov skates on Philadelphia's third line, so this is a depth forward delivering the team's only goal.
It was his lone shot on goal, and it was a big one: expected goals, meaning what the chance was worth, put it at 0.63. Detroit has had more shots on goal, 9-5, but Joseph Woll has stopped all nine.
