Panthers' Net Tested in Buffalo, Backup Holds the Fort

Jacob Markstrom left late with reported tightness after allowing 2 goals on 11 shots (9 saves). Akira Schmid answered with an 18-save relief outing on 21 shots, stopping 5 of 7 high-danger chances to keep Florida in the game despite the final 5-3 loss. The night was a clear stress-test of the Panthers' crease depth and a reminder that short-term roster management will hinge on Markstrom's recovery and Schmid's ability to absorb workload.
