Leon Draisaitl was Edmonton’s obvious catalyst in the first period, forcing chances and creating traffic right in front of the net. He finished the stanza with three shots on goal, a crossbar at 3:11, and 0.59 expected goals — meaning his looks were legitimately high-quality and drove Edmonton’s pressure.
