Maple Leafs Hold On in a Tight One at Scotiabank Arena

Toronto won 2-1 despite New York controlling the play. Colton Sissons opened the scoring and Easton Cowan added a power-play goal; both were the tidy, decisive moments the Leafs needed. Anthony Stolarz turned aside 26 of 27, including 11 of 12 high-danger stops, while the Islanders out-attempted Toronto 68–48 and had the lower expected-goals total (NYI 2.54, TOR 2.94) yet couldn’t convert enough of their chances.
