Bouchard’s Night Steals the Box Score

Evan Bouchard had a five-point explosion — three goals and two assists — on six shot attempts over 26:00 of ice time. His finishing did the heavy lifting: despite generating only 0.27 expected goals, Bouchard turned his looks into real goals and finished chances the team was creating all night. It was a classic big individual output inside a losing effort: Edmonton owned the chance share and high-danger looks while defensive lapses and goaltending left the final result out of reach.
