Luneau and Carlsson Lift Ducks Past Flyers 5-4
Philadelphia fired more pucks at the net, but Anaheim got the looks that mattered. That is why the Ducks left with a 5-4 win.
The Flyers outshot the Ducks 32-26. Yet the Ducks' chances were worth 4.54 expected goals, a measure of how dangerous each shot was. Philadelphia's added up to just 2.64. Anaheim scored five and could have had more: Sam Colangelo rang a shot off the post.
Tristan Luneau led the way from the blue line with a goal and two assists. Leo Carlsson added a goal and an assist. His linemate Cutter Gauthier put four shots on net, more than any other Duck.
Lukas Dostal made 28 saves on 32 shots. At the other end, Joseph Woll stopped 21 of 26.
For the Flyers, Matvei Michkov scored twice. Trevor Zegras set up two goals. The power play went 2 for 7, but that wasn't enough to make up for chances that rarely threatened.
