Saddledome Farewell Opens with Kraken–Flames Reset

Calgary’s rebuild meets Seattle’s continuity as Simon Nemec arrives and Dan Bylsma shapes a clearer identity.

Saddledome’s farewell season starts with two teams rewriting their scripts: Calgary Flames in a rebuild and the continuity-driven Seattle Kraken seeking a cleaner identity.

For Seattle, watch how Dan Bylsma’s group turns preseason power-play promise into five‑on‑five bite after finishing at 79 points last year.

For Calgary, newcomers Simon Nemec and Maxim Tsyplakov headline a youth tilt around Mikael Backlund, with Jonathan Huberdeau rehabbing a hip. Calgary finished at 77 points.
