Hofer Blanks Stars in Road Shutout
A near-perfect night in Dallas as St. Louis takes a 4-0 win behind his netminding
Joel Hofer stopped everything he faced in this one, posting a shutout in St. Louis’ 4-0 road win. He finished the game with 25 saves on 25 shots and played 59:21. The box score shows he prevented more than the ordinary night in net: his expected goals against were 3.98, and his goals saved above expected were 3.98, reflecting how many scoring chances he turned into routine stops. The result was a win for the Blues; Hofer recorded the clean sheet and a 1.00 save percentage for the night. Plain and simple: a quiet scoreboard night for Dallas’ attack and an efficient, high-value performance from Hofer between the pipes.
