Sharks’ New Edge Meets Panthers’ Composure in San Jose
Florida arrives off an overtime shutout; San Jose unveils a youth‑driven core and a heavier blue line under Ryan Warsofsky.
Florida’s opener was calm and ruthless: 1–0 OT, Gustav Forsling the winner, Jacob Markstrom perfect on 15 shots. - Panthers: After a 40‑38‑4 season (84 points, missed playoffs), the retooled core leans on structure and timely finishing. - Sharks: Coming from 39‑35‑8 (86 points, missed playoffs), the mix of Celebrini‑Smith youth, added size (Nurse, Kesselring), and the Askarov question takes its first real test.
