Bouchard Carries the Night in High-Scoring Loss

Defenceman piles up offense while Edmonton falls in overtime to Vancouver

Evan Bouchard turned the box score into his personal highlight reel but it wasn’t enough in an overtime defeat. He finished with 3 goals and 2 assists for 5 points, a +2 plus-minus, and 6 shots on goal in the Oilers’ 6-5 OT loss. Bouchard skated a team-high 25:41 of ice time (1st among 18 skaters), led the defence group in minutes (1st of 6), and logged 28 shifts.

His scoring came entirely at even strength (all three goals listed as even strength), and he collected 0 power-play goals and 0 power-play assists. The stat line also shows 3 blocked shots, 1 hit, 2 giveaways, and 0 takeaways. This one-game output matches his season totals (3 G, 2 A, 5 P in 1 GP) and stands out as a huge offensive night from a defenceman even as Edmonton left with a single point.
