ADRIAN KEMPE

Kempe’s Finishing Night Forces Kings Back Into the Game

Six shots kept L.A. alive in a wild overtime loss in San Jose — his urgency lit the comeback, but teammates didn’t match it late

Adrian Kempe hunted pucks and kept the pressure on San Jose’s net all night. He recorded 1 goal and 1 assist with 6 shots on goal in 22:00 of ice time (third among team skaters), producing both of his points on the power play and taking five of his shots at even strength. Those attempts sustained offensive pressure and helped Los Angeles climb back into the contest and reach overtime.

The scoring night came with a cost — Kempe had 2 giveaways and the team lost in overtime — highlighting that his finish-first approach created chances but also required support. If Los Angeles wants to turn nights like this into wins, the rest of the lineup will need to match Kempe’s shot volume so his chances don’t go to waste.
