Sanderson Quietly Logs the Miles in Ottawa's 4-2 Win Over Utah
The Senators defenceman stays off the scoresheet while Ottawa pulls away from the Mammoth at home.
Jake Sanderson did not show up on the scoresheet, but he was on the ice a lot as the Senators beat Utah 4-2 at home.
The defenceman played 22:08 over 28 shifts, second among Ottawa's 18 skaters and second among the team's six defencemen. He finished with no goals, no assists and an even plus-minus. He had one shot on goal, one hit and one blocked shot, and took no penalties. At even strength he put one shot on net from five attempts. On the power play he put up one attempt and no shots on goal.
It was close to his usual workload. He is averaging 22.7 minutes a game this season, and he has one goal and nine assists in 10 games. A scoreless night is not a surprise from a defenceman with one goal this year, and it did not hurt the result.
Ottawa moves to 11-6-1 and has won two in a row.
