Celebrini Finds the Net Alone in Minnesota Loss
San Jose's lone goal came off his stick at even strength, but the Wild pulled away 4-1 at home.
Macklin Celebrini scored the Sharks' only goal in a 4-1 loss at Minnesota, and he did it while playing more than anyone else on the team.
His 24:59 of ice time was a team high among San Jose's 18 skaters and first among the club's 12 forwards. He scored at even strength in the second period, at 12:11, and finished with one goal on six shots on goal. Three of those shots came at even strength and three on the power play, where he did not score or pick up a point. He also had a blocked shot, a takeaway, a giveaway and two penalty minutes, and finished even in plus/minus.
The workload was a bit above his usual. He averages 22.8 minutes a game, and he now has seven goals and 18 points in 16 games. Six shots is a busy night for him; his season total is 65.
The loss was San Jose's third in a row, leaving the Sharks at 7-9-1. Celebrini made sure the night was not a shutout.
