Power Piles Up Three Helpers as Sabres Beat Columbus 5-2
The Buffalo defenceman finished plus three on a night the Sabres finally found offence at home against the Blue Jackets.
Owen Power had a three-assist night for the Sabres, who beat the Blue Jackets 5-2 at home. All three assists came at even strength, and he finished plus 3.
He played 20:20 over 25 shifts. That was fourth among Buffalo's 18 skaters and third among the team's six defencemen. He also put three shots on net, took one puck away, gave one away and served two penalty minutes. He had no hits and no blocked shots.
The night stands out against his season. Power came in with two goals and 12 assists in 16 games, so three assists in one game is a large share of his output so far. His 20:20 was also well below his season average of 26.2 minutes a night. Buffalo needed offence at home, and he helped supply it.
For Columbus, now 7-7-0, it was another road loss. The Blue Jackets are 1-4-0 away from home. Buffalo moves to 8-5-3.
