Werenski Keeps Knocking, Blue Jackets Blue Liner Still Waiting
Columbus's Werenski logs heavy minutes alongside Damon Severson, but the puck rarely goes in for him this season.
By MA Insights
Zach Werenski has been busy, and the scoresheet barely shows it. The Blue Jackets defenseman has one goal and 12 assists through 14 games, playing 28.6 minutes a night alongside Damon Severson.
He has fired 39 shots, yet only one has gone in. His chances were worth expected goals -- how many his shots should have produced -- of 2.58. The finishing just hasn't followed. Still, he is plus 8 for a Columbus team sitting 14th in the East.
